We wanted to share a quick update from the Xcat side and let the community know that we’ve recently launched our Xcat DeWalt 5Ah battery replacement, compatible with the popular DCB205 format used across many DeWalt® 18V XR / 20V MAX tools.
This product has been a while in the making. We’ve had repeated questions from DIYers and workshop users asking for a solid mid-range battery — something that offers good runtime without the extra weight and cost of very high-capacity packs. That’s why we deliberately chose 5Ah as an all-rounder, rather than going smaller or chasing headline numbers.
Since quietly launching it, we’ve already seen encouraging early sales and repeat interest, which has been reassuring and suggests we’re hitting the right balance for everyday users. Feedback so far has centred on runtime and general usability across drills, impact drivers, and similar tools.
